kerr 3 design group, inc. Set To Begin Work For Guthrie Public Schools
Guthrie, OK (February 10, 2005) - - Guthrie voters said "yes" on Tuesday,
February 8 to a $4.85 million school bond issue that will add needed
classrooms to two Guthrie elementary schools and renovate Guthrie's
historic Jelsma Stadium. Architect kerr 3 design group, inc. now begins
the design process for Jelsma Stadium which is scheduled to have a
complete renovation prior to the beginning of Guthrie High School's 2005
football season.
"We are extremely excited for Guthrie Public Schools," said Terry Kerr,
President of kerr 3 design group, inc. "It is a great achievement for the
community to pass this bond issue. It is a benefit to the schools and we
sincerely feel that the renovated Jelsma Stadium is going to be the new
crown jewel of historic downtown Guthrie. We have a lot of work ahead of
us, but this is an exciting moment for Guthrie Public Schools and kerr 3
design group, inc."
Originally built in 1936 as a WPA project, the nearly 70 year old Jelsma
Stadium will receive a major face lift. Plans include a new drainage
system, new concrete for the seating area, a new press box and concession
area, new rest rooms, and many other improvements. While Jelsma will be
updated and modernized, the historical integrity of this great stadium is
being retained. Construction is slated to begin in April, and kerr 3
design group, inc. is underway with the architectural design.
"We are already meeting with our engineering consultants, the school
administration, facilities, and athletic departments, and our design team.
We are working out the details of this renovation and the bond issue
passed less than 48 hours ago." said Kerr. "There is a lot of work to be
done on Jelsma Stadium and a very tight timeline in which to accomplish
it."
The other projects included in the bond issue call for a four class room
addition at Fogarty Elementary and an eight class room addition at Central
Elementary. Both projects are scheduled to be complete by Fall 2006.
Located in Edmond, Oklahoma for 28 years, kerr 3 design group, inc. has

evident. Architect Terry Kerr's goal for design is to make certain the
finished product represents the client's goals, dreams, and vision. kerr

Inc. building in Oklahoma City, and the Main Fire Station, in Guthrie,
