CITY OF GUTHRIE TO DEDICATE NEW FIRE STATION THIS FRIDAY

GUTHRIE, Okla (July 20, 2004) - - The City of Guthrie will dedicate their newly constructed Main Fire Station this Friday morning, July 23, at 10:00 a.m. The Guthrie Fire Department moves into a new home after being at their previous station for 100 years.

The state of the art new facility was a design+build project from kerr 3 design group, inc. and kerr 3 construction group, LLC. Architects from kerr 3 design group, inc. took special care to incorporate elements of Guthrie’s downtown historical architecture into the design of the new building. While the exterior captures the city’s history, the interior is a significant step into the future, including heating elements located beneath the slab of the apparatus bay, which will provide more efficient energy usage and save wear on Guthrie Fire Department vehicles.

The City of Guthrie will host the dedication event and ribbon cutting ceremony with City leaders and other dignitaries expected to attend.

Terry Kerr, Architect, president of kerr 3 design group inc. as well as other representatives from kerr 3 design group, inc. and kerr 3 construction group LLC will also be in attendance.

The Guthrie Main Fire Station is located at 209 East Springer, one block east of Division Street in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Ceremonies will take place at 10:00 a.m. this Friday, July 23
